School Ball!!
Now that school basketball season is upon us, we've seen so much young talent like Jack Cortez, and MJ Mercer pop up from open practices and YouTube. Expect to see our rankings change much more drastically during what we like to call 'PrimeTime' for young athletes, stretching from January to April, during an AAU cross with school basketball. Its a time where we have a live tracker for EVERYTHING. Ranking updates, YouTube video releases, games, events, and so much more!
The Neumanns: Ball Family 2.0?
#1 Niles Neumann, (The youngest of the Neumanns) Has sprung up on the scene. His DEEP range, and ability to handle pressure will for sure have him in our rankings next year. On the other hand, we will see #14 Nelson pretty soon, and not just benchwarming for Rod Wave Elite, but the star on JL3 Elite. Noah Neumann, a player we don't cover, while still being a great talent, is probably the least skilled by-age in the family. No shade though, because he definetley has made a name for himself.
The 'Undefeated' Documentary
#24 Jaiden Bocachica is starring in a school documentary featuring #50 Jack Cortez & is coached by Mr. Young, a trending teacher, in a popular tiktok video roast-battling his student. The series will be called 'Grit' uploaded weekly on YouTube.

Get Ready For AAU!
AAU Is on the horizon which means it's time for bay stars like Colton Clevenger, Kameron Mercer, and Darius Hawkings to blow up on our channel and Social Media again, and we'll be the first on the scene. We will have coverage at all (public) Norcross Heat 2028, Alabama Fusion 2028, Austin Select 2028, and Game Elite 2028/9 Games, and some practices.
Kaden & Caden: Best Duo In The South?
Another person on our radar is Kaden Mathews, who was noticed playing with #39 Caden Easter is not yet good enough to be on our list, but his highlights are truly entertaining, and will be able to show his skills this year against defensive stars like MJ Mercer and Nijuan Harris, while playing alongside another upcoming entertainer, #39 Caden Easter, who was spotted by us at the Elite 60 Camp hosted by NGS, as well as playing with Sterling Pritchett, Jaiden Bocachica, and an unkown big last year on Tier 2 Elite. Either way, both Kaden, and Caden are talents to watch out for a blow up this year.
Most Exiting Rivalry In The Country?
Tier 2 Elite vs Norcross Heat, starring #23 Sterling Pritchett and (Honorable) MJ Mercer, vs. #24 Jaiden Bocachica, and the unknown Big I mentioned earlier. This rivalry is truly unique, considering Sterling himself is a former member of Tier 2 Elite, and Jaiden is only one spot below him on our southern rankings. Sterling can be compared to Tyreese Maxey, or Marcus Smart, and Jaiden is coming to be a Ben Wallace defender and Emoni Bates finisher.
Beyond Basketball & Deuce Johnson
Speaking of, another program that Jaiden is a part of is Beyond Basketball, who have also been on the rise ever since gaining #19 Deuce Johnson back in early 2022. Deuce has the size of a wing, while having a ranged shot, a guard handle, and a deadly stepback and finishing package. We love to make comparisons here, and this guy shows shades of James Harden, Luka Doncic, and Damian Lillard There are also many players a part of multiple Beyond Basketball teams that are on our radar. We will be staying updated with those others.
Darius vs Dampier
Enough talk about the underdogs, a rivalry we are all exited about is #1 Darius Hawkins vs. #3 Erick Dampier Jr. I'm sure everyone has been waiting for that matchup that could possibly happen this year. Seeing those two go head to head would be a dream come true for any basketball fan. Darius, being a shifty guard, and Erick being a stretch big, this could be a Jokic vs Kyrie type matchup.
Dampier The Demigod
We caught Erick in Georgia for a private scrimmage back in 2021, and almost instantly knew he was something. He uses his size wisely being 6'5" and can get anywhere on the floor with ease. Being able to dunk at the age of 12 is a crazy feat that we've only seen in 3 others. #24 Jaiden Bocachica, #16 Madden Hill, and #11 Josh Huggins. However, recently that number has grown drastically. We are proud to see so many class of 2028 and 2029 getting on the rim lately.
'Baby Herro' Makes His Big Return
#4 Austin Sears, AKA 'Baby Herro' was spotted recently at MSHTV pulling from all over the court. His NBA range, and ability to freeze defenders will definitely earn him a 6-time player of the week award. Some other candidates were 17 from T2E, and Kaden Mathews, for popping up on the radar and making a bang. Credit to HOOPCITYFILMS for letting us see some of the kids that we weren't able to see at MSTV like Austin. Baby Herro was certainly out to get everyone, getting into peoples heads. We have seen improvement in his handles as well.
Kameron Mercer: Lost Cause?
Nelson The Prodigy
Since Cam Wilder started 'Rod Wave Elite' #14 Nelson Neumann has been an internet sensation and a household name in basketball. I'm sure that we'll see and hear more of him come 2024. His unique handles and range (and comedy) earned him a spot in our top 15. We expect him to go way up in rankings once he finds himself playing his own age.
Josh All The Way?
someone we've seen the most improvement from this past summer was #3 Erick Dampier's duo, #11 Josh Huggins. He may not be as athletic as his partner, but his presence is always known, his comparisons include Jusuf Nurkic, Myles Turner, and Robert Covington. He always goes up for strong finishes, and isn't scared to let the defender know about it. And with his large frame, it's amazing to see such a nice shot form.
Consistency Matters & 2029 OTW
Recently we've gotten a lot of questions on why #38 Carlos Lopez is so low on our list. All we want to see out of him is consistency. Once he's gotten his consistency on top levels, he could be top 20, or even top 15. But otherwise this kid is truly special, with comparisons to Trae Young, and Jordan Poole.
Speaking of being compared to Trae Young, 2029 #8 Colton Clevenger has a shot like Tyler Herro, and dimes like Chris Paul I'm sure you've heard of him by now, with his following being like no other in the Class of 2029, kind of like Nelson Neumann, but his trash talk can for sure get him compared to Mikey Williams, or Patrick Beverley. This kid has a bright future ahead of him.
Since we're on the topic of 2029, #25 Pierre Rondo has been dropping dimes just like his pops, Rajon Rondo. His games will definetley be a must-see in the near future if he gets paired with a nice big.

FAQ
What About The North Kids?
We Still Have Northern Coverage for only main stars.
Where's the younger classes?
Well, we add a new class every February, so watch out for your class this next coming Valentine's Day
Why Only Up To 2028?
We want to start exposing younger kids first as they grow up, specifically exposing middle schoolers. There's no hate against high school, which we will cover once 2028 grows up, but they are already mainstream. We want to get middle schoolers noticed BEFORE they're noticed.
